Jeffrey Kaplan Adjunct In Residence CAS | BIO | Biology

Jeffrey Kaplan received a PhD in biology from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1980. Before joining AU in 2012, Kaplan served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Columbia University, a Senior Scientist at Pfizer, and an Associate Professor at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. Kaplan has published more than 75 articles on biomedical research primarily in the fields of infectious disease, microbiology, evolution and cancer. During his time at AU, Kaplan served as Director of the Center for Food Studies and held a joint appointment in the Department of Health Studies. He retired from AU in 2023, and is currently working at the Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya, Israel.
