CAS alumni often connect with the college through lasting, influential relationships with faculty and advisors in their fields of study. Whether your interest is in the arts, humanities, social sciences, education, or the natural sciences, there is a way for you to give back to the college and make a difference.

College of Arts and Sciences Funds
- Antiracist Research and Policy Center: ARPC generates scholarly research, educational tools, and policy analysis geared towards dismantling racism in its many forms. We build multidisciplinary initiatives for fostering racial justice, decolonial politics, and intersectional liberation by forging relationships across AU and with external changemakers in the DC region and beyond.
- AU Museum at the Katzen: American University Museum showcases Washington-based artists, international contemporary art, and socially- and politically-engaged art. With a world class space and ambitions to match, the museum has received great critical attention. With your support, the museum's impact on the arts community in Washington, DC, and beyond continues to grow.
- Carmel Institute of Russian Culture & History: The Carmel Institute of Russian Culture and History promotes greater understanding of Russian culture's versatility and richness among all Consortium students in the Washington area. IRC offers courses, screenings and discussions of classic Soviet and Russian films, academic conferences, exchanges of student choirs and theater groups, art exhibits, musical performances, and other events at American University, the Embassy of the Russian Federation, and other locations around DC.
- CAS Dean's Fund: The purpose of this fund is to support the construction of major renovation of science facilities used in the instruction of the sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences
- Center for Israel Studies: AU's Center for Israel Studies (CIS) is a nationally known pioneer and leader in the growing academic field of Israel studies. AU created the country's first undergraduate minor in Israel studies and hosted the first visiting professor in Israel studies. Through its unique location and interdisciplinary approach to studying Israeli society, culture, arts, and scientific achievement, programs open to the general public are offered monthly throughout the year. We invite you to be a part of the growth of our center by attending our programs and offering your support. Your commitment and generosity will ensure that CIS will continue to serve as a model throughout the nation in this growing field.
- Dr. Cyrus and Myrtle Katzen Arts Center: The Cyrus and Myrtle Katzen Arts Center fosters interdisciplinary collaboration in the arts, providing state-of-the-art instructional, exhibition, and performance space for all the arts disciplines. Your support ensures that the Katzen Arts Center remains a cutting-edge space for tomorrow's artists.
- Friends of Performing Arts: The Department of Performing Arts includes students studying arts management, audio technology, dance, music, musical theatre, and theatre. Gifts to this fund help students in all of our performing arts disciplines.
- Harold and Sylvia Greenberg Theatre: The 300-seat Harold and Sylvia Greenberg Theatre provides the Washington, DC and American University communities a place to experience live performances in music, theatre, and dance. Your support ensures we can continue to present high-quality performances.
- History Department: American University's Department of History encourages interdisciplinary study, individually designed programs, and close contact between faculty and students. Our outstanding faculty is dedicated to teaching, scholarship, and helping students use the matchless resources of Washington, DC. Your support helps undergraduate, graduate, and faculty in the department to continue to excel in their field.
- Humanities Truck: The Humanities Truck is a fully customized delivery truck that serves as an experimental mobile platform for collecting, exhibiting, preserving, and expanding dialogue around the humanities. Using the truck, we seek to mobilize the humanities and democratize the sharing and production of knowledge by bringing together scholars at American University with community residents across Washington, DC.

How do I update my contact information?
Go to our Stay Connected Page and fill out a contact update form. You may also e-mail your updated contact information to Alumni Relations at: alumupdate@american.edu.
How do I audit a class?
As a graduate of American University, you can audit one non-tutorial course per semester for the nominal fee of $150 (plus course fees). Please check the registrar's schedule of classes: a class must be listed as "Open" for an auditor to enroll in it. To make sure that you are in good financial standing with the university, please call the Office of Student Accounts. Any outstanding balances must be paid before you can enroll in the Alumni Audit program.

Where can I find out about AU Alumni events in my community?

How do I get a copy of my transcript?
Former students may request an official transcript by creating an account through the online ordering system. Visit the registrar for more information about requesting transcripts.
How can AU help in my job search?
If you graduated more than one year ago, you are invited to meet with our alumni career advisor, Alyssa Best, for up to three 30-minute appointments at no charge. Alyssa offers phone and in-person appointments each Wednesday from 3:30-8:00. Schedule an appointment with Handshake or call 202-885-1804.
How can I advertise internships and jobs with my company to AU students and alumni?
