You are here: American University Finance Communications Launch of the Airlie Berkshire Farm’s 2024 CSA Program

Communication May 6, 2024

Dear AU Community,

We are excited to announce the launch of the 2024 Airlie Berkshire Farm Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA) Program. The program will make our Airlie Berkshire Farm’s fresh, local produce available to the AU community across three, nine-week share seasons this year: spring, summer, and fall.

A CSA program is a direct-to-consumer farm offering that allows you to subscribe to the harvest of a farm or group of farms. By participating in Airlie Berkshire Farm CSA, you become an integral part of the Berkshire Farm community and support sustainable agriculture while enjoying the benefits of fresh, seasonal produce.

Starting May 29, the Airlie Berkshire Farm CSA will run through the middle of November. Each week, your subscription box will feature ten to twelve pounds of seasonal herbs, fruits, and vegetables including squash, berries, broccoli, potatoes, and much more. We have added additional crop varieties this year including corn, different kinds of potatoes (we hope you like what we chose), and a few other surprises.

This year, we are pleased to offer advance payment options for one or all seasons and semi-weekly installment billing. Single seasons will be $369, all seasons will be $989, and we have added every other week installment billing of $79 per installment (five installments per season). Installment billing cannot be cancelled once a share season has begun, but you will have the option of cancelling a future season should you wish.

The Berkshire Farm will offer three ways to receive your CSA boxes at AU:

  • Deliveries made to American University each week on Wednesdays at the AU Farmer’s Market from 12 to 2 p.m.
  • Pick up at 4401 Connecticut Avenue (Note we must secure at least 10 subscribers)
  • Pick up at Washington College of Law (Note we must secure at least 10 subscribers)

Please be sure to select the right pick-up location using the drop-down menus in the payment links. Please register and subscribe using the pay links here:

If you have any questions or require further assistance, please feel free to reach out to the Farm at berkshirefarm@airlie.com or visit us online at www.airlie.com/farm.
