Bio
Anna Morrison serves as the primary resource person for information and advocacy related to LGBTQ+ communities at American University. She is focused on both individual and collective identity work in support of LGBTQ+ students. Passionate about intersectional work, she dedicates herself to continual, intentional allyship to LGBTQ+ students of color and trans and non-binary students.
Prior to joining the Center for Diversity and Inclusion team at American University, Anna acted as the Chair of GLSEN Maryland, the state chapter of the leading national organization dedicated to creating safe and affirming environments for all students regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. There, she worked with and trained thousands of youth, teachers, professionals, and administrators around the state. Anna is also a proud alumna of Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts.
In her spare time, Anna rides horses and unabashedly queers-up DC as a lover of drag and anti-racist activist and trainer with SURJ DC.
