Bio
Yui joined the International Student & Scholar Services in August 2018. Prior to joining ISSS, Yui worked over five years at the Embassy of Japan in Washington DC. At the Embassy, Yui was a national lead coordinator for the MEXT (Ministry of Education) Scholarship and the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program which is Japan’s biggest government-run exchange program. She managed and oversaw the application & screening processes and coordinated the collaboration among other Consulates General of Japan across the U.S. In addition to her professional experience, her passion for international education is deeply rooted in her personal experience—as a high school exchange student in Australia, a teaching volunteer in Cambodia and Indonesia, and as an English teacher in Japan. She is committed to behind-the-scene efforts to help students succeed in international settings.
