STEM Time Conversations

All AU community members, including students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend STEM Time Conversations. These are informal discussions facilitated by STEM experts who talk about their academic research and professional work.

STEM Time Conversations typically occur on select Wednesdays from 6:30 - 7:30 pm during the spring and fall semesters. Don Myers room 111 is the usual site for these conversations. Often there is food and refreshments for attendees to enjoy during STEM Time.

  • October 23, 6:30 - 7:30 pm, Bender Meeting Room 150, Dr. Chad Zatezelo, distinguished oculofacial plastic surgeon and ophthalmologist

Description automatically generatedAnna Litman, Assistant Director for Curriculum Integration and CAS Career Advisor, spoke at the STEM Time Conversation on September 25. Anna started the Conversation by updating attendees on new resources and services available to STEM students at the Career Center. The Career Center enhances STEM students’ career exploration and planning by connecting them with information, opportunities, and STEM professionals/alumni through events, resources, and personalized career advising.

After her presentation, Anna answered attendees' questions, such as on how to update/create an effective resume/CV, cover letters, personal statements, how to ace interviews, how to network, Linked-In profile, etc.

Bio: Anna Litman has a Master’s in Higher Education Administration; she is certified to interpret career self-assessments (MBTI and Strong Interest Inventory). Anna has also recently become a certified ADHD career strategist. Before coming to AU, Anna worked as an employment specialist and career counselor in Maryland. She pivoted to career advising after serving for many years as a consultant in the international development field, working on multinational teams in health and education projects at the World Bank. During her 15-year tenure at the AU Career Center, Anna provided individualized support to 1,000+ STEM students in grad school/fellowship applications and job searches.
