Bio
Jennifer Clements is a multi-hyphenate writer and arts administrator based in Washington, DC.

She holds an MFA in creative writing from George Mason University, and is currently the playwright-in-residence with Federal Theatre Project. Her poetry and prose have been featured in publications including Barrelhouse, Hippocampus, WordRiot, Psychopomp, and The Intentional. Her plays have been produced or workshopped by companies including Stay Awake! Theatre, Capital Repertory Theatre, Federal Theatre Project, Theater Alliance, Creative Cauldron, and on several university campuses.

Jennifer has received fellowships from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, as well as nominations for the Pushcart Prize, the Larry Neal Writer’s Award, and the Best of the Net Award, among other honors. In 2007, she was selected for a Fulbright, during which she taught English at the University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra, Slovakia, while studying the literary traditions of post-communist Slavic states.

Jennifer currently serves as the Managing Director of Theater Alliance and holds a board position with Theatre Washington.
