Lucas Martínez-Villalba

Lucas Martínez-Villalba is an SJD Candidate at American University Washington College of Law. His doctoral research focuses on the criminalization of femicide in Latin America as a legislative tool to confront gender-based violence.
Prior to joining the Washington College of Law SJD program, Mr. Martinez-Villalba worked as an adjunct professor at the Villanova University School of Law. His background includes practice in both the public and private sectors, working as an associate at Rios Ferrer, Guillén-Llarena, Treviño & Rivera LLP in Mexico City and as a consultant in different public institutions in Colombia.
