Viviana Waisman
Viviana Waisman Founder, President & CEO at Women’s Link. She holds a Master of Studies in International Human Rights Law from Oxford University, a Juris Doctorate from the University of California Hastings College Of Law in San Francisco and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley. Viviana is an expert in women’s rights and international human rights law. She has participated and organized international meetings and conferences related to human trafficking, sexual and reproductive rights, and international gender crimes. Such forums include conferences on Sexual and Reproductive Rights and Strategies to improve access to safe abortion in Uganda and Tanzania, applying the due diligence standard to the judiciary for trafficking victims and training for Prosecutors and Judges on incorporating gender in the prosecutions for the crimes during the military dictatorship in Argentina. She was part of the Third Group of Experts on Trafficking in Human Beings by the European Commission (2011-2015). Viviana is an Ashoka Fellow since 2016. Prior to founding Women’s Link, Viviana worked as a consultant for the United Nations Population Fund in New York, as an attorney at the Center for Reproductive Rights in New York and as an associate at the law firm Gray, Cary, Ware and Friendenrich in California (USA). She is currently working with groups in the United States to increase access to reproductive health and rights services in abortion hostile states.
