ADA30: Looking Back, Moving Forward
October 27, 2020 | 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Live Webinar
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), landmark legislation mandating baseline levels of access for the millions of Americans living with disabilities. Its passage culminated decades of passionate disability rights and disability justice advocacy. The ADA continues to inspire emerging leaders today.
The ADA achieved much, but it could not and did not realize total inclusion. Thirty years of technological progress coincided with an expanding litany of cultural, legal, and technical challenges to access for all.
Please join the Program on Law and Government at American University Washington College of Law and event sponsor Verizon for a discussion looking back on what the ADA and its champions achieved, and forward to the challenges ahead.
