Edward J. George is Associate General Counsel for Cybersecurity Law & Investigations at Meta (Facebook). In this capacity, Mr. George provides operational and strategic legal support to Meta’s Security teams on incident response, cyber information sharing, and internal and external threat mitigation; as well as developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure Meta's Security teams’ efforts in these areas are compliant with relevant laws, policies, and regulations. Mr. George also regularly advises Meta’s investigation teams dealing with national security matters or other serious crimes.
Prior to Meta, Mr. George was an attorney at Paul Hastings, advising clients on privacy, cybersecurity, and bank regulatory issues. He also previously served as Chief Research Assistant at Georgetown Law’s Center on Privacy & Technology, and was a law clerk to Senator Al Franken on the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee.
Mr. George received his BA from Syracuse University, where he was also a visiting student at the London School of Economics and Political Science, and received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
