Three American University Washington College of Law alumni were honored at the DC Trial Lawyers Association 67th Annual Awards Dinner earlier this month. Each year, the association recognizes the achievements of those in the legal community.

The alumni honored at this year were:

  • The Community Service Award was presented to the Government Accountability Project. Louis Clark, ‘77, CEO and founder, accepted the award. Clark is also a former winner of Cicchino Award.

  • Hon. Nan R. Shuker, ‘69, was awarded the Sandra H. Robinson Women’s Caucus Award.

  • Dan Scialpi, ‘09, of Patrick Malone & Associates, received the President’s Award. Scialpi served as president of the Trial Lawyers Association from 2023-2024.

The Trial Lawyers Association of Metropolitan Washington, D.C. (TLA-DC) is the preeminent organization of lawyers in and around Washington, D.C. who principally represent plaintiffs in personal injury, wrongful death, and civil rights actions, and claimants in workers' compensation and Social Security disability administrative claims.

Congratulations to our outstanding alumni for their exceptional accomplishments and contributions to the legal field!
