More about David
“The different classes I was able to take gave me a great foundation for my current audio skill set. I still use a lot of what I learned in school on a regular basis.”
David Greenburg (CAS ‘22) graduated from AU’s combined BA/MA program in Audio Production and Audio Technology and has since gone on to work at Sirius XM, Voice of America, and presently at NPR as an audio engineer. David described his time at AU as essential to his career path and to developing the skill set for his day-to-day responsibilities. “Initially, I was really impressed with AU and its facilities—they had a really nice, state-of-the-art recording studio and a beautiful campus.” After sitting in on one of Audio Technology Program Director Mike Harvey’s classes as a prospective student, Greenburg knew he had found the right place. “I really loved his teaching style, and combined with the faculty and facilities, AU was a great fit. I loved everything about it.”
After his graduation, Greenburg found a number of job opportunities in the DC area. “It’s a great city for the broadcast industry. We’re in the capital, and there’s so much news happening.” Greenburg’s current position at NPR involves editing the sound on recorded story segments and working behind the board during live broadcasts. A long-time guitarist, Greenburg’s interest in music eventually led to a career in audio technology. Now, he leverages his interest in music by working on the Tiny Desk Concerts series for NPR. “I’m really happy with the opportunities I’ve been able to have,” he says.
