Equipment

The Design and Build Lab features an array of digital and analog fabrication equipment including a laser cutter, 3D printers, CNC mill, electronics workbench, sewing machine, and various hand tools.

DaBL

Laser cutter

Laser Cutter

The laser cutter is a powerful yet complicated tool which uses high powered lasers to cut through material. The lasers can cut or etch a range of materials with your vector designs.

PCB Mill

PCB Mill

Small in stature and huge in utility, this CNC machine's primary purpose is to fabricate printed circuit boards, taking the PCB fab turnaround time from weeks to hours.

3d printer

3D Printer

DaBL's 3D printing workhorse, this additive machine is a staple in rapid prototyping.

Vinyl cutter

Vinyl Cutter

The vinyl cutter takes 2D designs and cuts them on an adhesive-backed material. The cut design can be placed on a surface like a sticker or applied onto fabric with the heat press.

Heat press

Heat Press

The heat press sticks cut vinyl to the desired fabric. After prepping the fabric with a 3 second heat blast, it takes less than 20 seconds to attach a permanent design to a shirt or other textile.

Heavy duty sewing machine

Heavy-Duty Sewing Machine

From fixing holey jeans to putting pockets on a newly made t-shirt, the sewing machine is a surprisingly versatile machine with many uses.

hot wire foam cutter

Custom Hot Wire Foam Cutter

This homemade machine is designed to slice through blocks of foam to create quick and simple designs.

Soldering iron

Soldering Irons

Every good fabrication lab needs some soldering irons! Use these to assemble the PCBs you create on the Bantam Tools PCB Mill, repair existing boards, or for any other soldering project.

Two tool solder station

Two Tool Solder Station

This two tool solder station is a terrific tool for attaching very small surface components as the tips are thin. There are multiple tips to use, as well as hot tweezers for grasping tiny things.

oscilloscope

Oscilloscope

An Oscilloscope measures voltage over time and displays a waveform that can be analyzed to obtain amplitude, frequency, rise time, distortion, and other characteristics of an electrical system. This tool helps identify problems with an electronic project.

stereo zoom microscope

Stereo Zoom Microscope

Whether taking precise measurements, looking at tiny resistors, or just investigating what something looks like up close, the microscope is a powerful tool. Users can take photos through the lens with the attached camera.
