Graduates of BA and BS programs in Economics will be able to

  • Execute a project that applies an economic idea or model.
  • Implement a regression analysis to address a real-world economic question.
  • Describe the function of key economic institutions.
     

Graduates of the MA program in Economics will be able to

  • Demonstrate the ability to solve macro and micro economic models.
  • Apply core economic theories to the analysis of key economic policy issues.
  • Employ the appropriate econometric methods and data to test economic hypotheses.  
  • Communicate the results of an economic analysis and support the conclusion.
     

Graduates of the MA program in International Economics will be able to

  • Demonstrate the ability to solve macro and micro economic models.
  • Apply core economic theories to the analysis of key economic policy issues.
  • Analyze the direction and determinants of trade and capital flows.
  • Quantify the gains and losses associated with trade and financial liberalization.
  • Employ the appropriate econometric methods and data to test economic hypotheses.  
  • Communicate the results of an economic analysis and support the conclusion.
     

Graduates of the PhD program in Economics will be able to

  • Apply the core models and concepts of economic theory to generate predictions about economic outcomes.
  • Formulate an original research question motivated by a critique of the relevant scholarly literature.
  • Execute a suitable empirical analysis to test hypotheses associated with a research question.
  • Author audience-appropriate communications of scholarly findings, orally and in writing.
