Through partnerships, mentoring and career planning, advanced scholarship opportunities, and engaging on-campus initiatives, Change Can’t Wait helps AU prioritize a sense of belonging and inclusivity that our graduates can carry forward throughout their lives. -
How We Do It

- Partner with historically black colleges and universities to establish scholarships for HBCU graduates and build a diverse talent pipeline

- Endow distinctive merit programs, including the Frederick Douglass Distinguished Scholars, which provides full tuition, mandatory fees, books, transportation, and room and board

- Create robust mentorship and career planning experiences enhanced by technology that makes it easy for alumni to volunteer and facilitate meaningful connections

- Fund solutions-oriented and affinity-based living-learning communities where students live together to explore a common interest or academic pursuit

- Sustain distinctive student leadership opportunities, such as the Kennedy Political Union—recognized as one of the country’s premier college speaker bureaus—and The Blackprint, a publication that amplifies the voices of students of color

- Establish curricular bridges to the AU Museum at the Katzen Art Center, the District’s only academic public-facing museum
