McBride moderated a conversation for the White House Historical Association's "History Happy Hour" with Lisa Kathleen Graddy, curator of Political History at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History. McBride and Graddy discussed the history and constantly changing Smithsonian's exhibit on first ladies.

June 20, 2024 Executive in Residence Anita B. McBride participated in the 2024 Annual Martha Washington Lecture at the George Washington Presidential Library at Mount Vernon in Alexandria, Virginia, alongside her co-authors Diana Carlin and Nancy Kegan Smith. They discussed their book, Remember the First Ladies, and in particular highlighted how Martha Washington defined the new role of first lady for the United States and how she and others influenced Americans.
