Peroxide Formers

Some peroxides can form dangerous explosives upon extended storage. Common examples are diethyl ether, methyl methacrylate, tetrahydrofuran (THF), and secondary alcohols. EH&S has implemented a program for tracking and evaluating all peroxide-forming chemicals in the Hall of Science. If you have any of these chemicals in your laboratory and haven't been contacted by EH&S about tracking and evaluation, please reach out to us!

Hazardous Building Materials

Hazardous building materials pose no health risk when left alone and intact; however, during maintenance, renovation, or demolition, materials that may pose health risks must be managed, abated, and disposed of appropriately according to regulations. To facilitate access to this information EH&S created a centralized database. Click here to learn more about this database.

Lab Safety Resources Site

EH&S compiled laboratory safety resources in a SharePoint site that is only accessible to members of the AU community. Click here to find laboratory hazard and emergency contact information, training requirements, training records, and a copy of the laboratory chemical inventory. Reach out the EH&S with any questions about access to the site.
