AU faculty, staff, and students are eligible to obtain a free subscription to Microsoft Office 365 (O365) through our campus site-licensing agreement. The O365 software exists in both desktop and online versions. Please see eligibility requirements below.

The full suite of desktop software is available to either:

• Full time students
• Faculty or staff who are assigned an AU computer

All AU account holders may use the online/web apps, which are accessible through an internet browser.

Get Started with Office 365

1. Open your web browser and go to https://portal.office.com.
2. Log in using your AU email address in the format of
   userid@american.edu and your myAU portal password.
3. From the O365 Portal landing page, launch any of the available web applications to get started. To download the O365 desktop applications, follow these instructions.

Please Note: Microsoft stipulates that the subscription to Office 365 will expire once you graduate or leave AU.
